Calf Feeder
Summary:
The position in calves is a part-time position in which the individual safely and humanely provides care for all calves. An individual who is a hard-working team player with a high sense of self-motivation and attention to detail would be a great fit for this role.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift 100 pounds
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to operate tool cat and golf cart
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
- Tolerate working in varying cool and warm conditions
- Awareness of your work environment to ensure safe work practices
- Compliance with our Animal Husbandry guidelines
Duties:
- Bottle and pail feeding of animals
- Cleaning of bottles and buckets
- Cleaning of equipment
- Check gates and doors to ensure they properly latch
- Interact with calves and cows calmly and without unnecessary disturbance
- Follow accepted safety practices when working with animals
- Practice self-management (is on-time, works at a reasonable pace, maintains internal motivation)
- Communicate work-related information with appropriate farm personnel
- Understand dairy farming is a 365 day/year job
Work Relationships:
Supervised by the Calf Manager. Works closely and maintains communication with the calf technicians and calf manager.
Work Schedule:
Part-time work daily from 4:30am to 7:00am and 3:00pm to 5:00pm as well as every other weekend.
