Summary:
This Yard Manager & Safety Coordinator position is a full-time role at Ebert Enterprises. An individual who can work independently yet also lead and give direction to a small team would be an ideal fit.
Qualifications:
- Direct job experience is required, apprenticeship or associate degree is preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, multi-task and adapt to change
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to communicate effectively in English required; ability to communicate in Spanish is ideal yet not required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, climb, stand and remain upright, walk, move, sit and remain stationary
- Awareness of your work environment to ensure safe work practices
- Ability to drive to multiple worksites
Work Relationships:
Supervised by the Site Manager, also serving as their backup when Site Manager is on vacation. Works closely, maintains communication and provides direction to maintenance team members. Leads all Ebert Enterprise employees on all safety initiatives.
Duties:
- Complete specific hands-on projects assigned in a timely manner
- Inspect a worksite to determine proper next steps of a building project, carry out decisions and next steps
- Work alongside and delegate tasks to a small team to complete projects thoroughly and safely
- Responsible for installation, repairs, finishing and maintaining structures, fixtures and buildings
- Diagnose problems, perform repairs and complete documentation associated with repairs
- Complete routine maintenance needs when projects are completed for the week
- Safely assemble, install, repair, replace and maintain all systems
- Contact external support or set up third party contractors if issues cannot be troubleshot in-house
- Lead worksite teams (2-5 individuals), yet also willing to work individually a large amount of time
- Set the leading safety example as the Safety Coordinator
- Identify and coordinate safety initiatives
- Identify and train employees on safety items (ex. operating, general safety, hazard communication)
- Safety responsibilities to account for about 20% of role
- Practice self-management (is on-time, works at a reasonable pace, maintains internal motivation)
- Work as a team member to solve problems and improve work processes
- Work with co-workers in a friendly and professional manner
Work Schedule:
Full-time hours Monday through Friday. Some after hour work calls may be needed. Not initially expected yet there may be a chance of some weekend responsibility.
